From July 2024, all pharmacies within Essex (excluding Southend and Thurrock) can sign up to provide lifestyle services (stop smoking service, NHS health checks and Ec-card distrbution). This contract with Provide CIC has recently been extended for a further year, ending March 2027
Healthy Living Partnership to provide administrative and service management for Community Pharmacy services under Essex Lifestyle services
This will include managing the payments, meeting training needs of the pharmacy teams, reporting activities and service quality and ensuring teams have access to PharmOutcomes.
Healthy Living Partnership Limited to develop a holistic pharmacy wellbeing service offer, utilising existing commissioned and contracted Community Pharmacy activities and partnerships:
This will be developing a framework to integrate activities delivered as part of Essex Lifestyle Services with activities delivered as part of other commissioned services, to present a holistic person-centred offer to Essex residents and to optimise use of resources including;
- Support service for Essex residents who smoke tobacco, to incorporate other lifestyle services to improve chances of a successful quit, new pharmacotherapies and extended support and monitoring.
- Link the NHS Community Pharmacy hypertension advanced service and the NHS Community Pharmacy contraception advanced service to NHS Healthcheck provision for eligible residents in priority PCN/INT localities.
